Welcome!

Welcome to ‘Taste & See’, a 30-day devotional designed to help you experience all of the wonderful provision our Father has in store for us.

My name is Dr. Travis Lacassin, and I want to invite you to experience for yourself the goodness of Jesus. Several years ago, I wrote out a prayer for myself, something to remind me of all the wonderful promises and truths in Scripture. I’ve prayed it every day since then.

This prayer isn’t something I mindlessly  recite. Rather, it’s a practical way for me to truly taste and see God’s faithfulness, especially when life feels uncertain or heavy.

Through the words of this prayer, God has shown me again and again that my identity, forgiveness, and future are secure in Christ. These words has helped me let go of old regrets, receive fresh grace, and walk in the freedom Jesus offers.

My prayer for you is that as you move through this devotional day by day, you’ll taste and see for yourself how good God is.

May you discover, as I have, that God’s love and presence are real, strong, and more than enough for whatever you face.

The Prayer

Papa,

Thank You for removing all of my sin as far as the east is from the west, in Jesus, You remember them no more. Thank You that I’m now a saint due to the finished work of Jesus at the cross.

Thank You for opening my eyes to the Glory of the new Covenant, who I am in Christ, and who Christ is in me. Thank You that I am now loved, I am significant, and I am accepted in Jesus.

Thank You that I now live in joy, rest, peace, freedom and the abundant life You freely give. Thank You that I currently live in eternal life; in the heart of Jesus, seated right next to You.

I acknowledge to You that I am unable to live a holy and righteous life as You have called me to live it. In my flesh, utilizing my own resources, I’m doomed to failure.

BUT: by and through Your Holy Spirit, I believe that the life of Jesus can be made manifest in my life in such a way that I become a worthy expression of Jesus, a fruitful (your name here) expression of the living Christ.

And I trust that this fruit of the Spirit of the living God (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, goodness, meekness, gentleness, and self control) will flow out of me in such a way that Christ would be lifted up, to the Glory of God our Father, so that people would see Him for who He truly is, and run into His embrace!

So be it, in Jesus’s name.
